Key Accounting Dates for your 2024 Calendar

 

The calendar year is coming to a close, and 2023 is almost behind us. This, of course, means that we should be reflecting on the achievements of the past year, while also looking ahead and preparing ourselves for the key accounting deadlines and significant calendar dates of 2024. 

This article will cover the main accounting dates for the next year, starting from April onwards. With this in mind, your accounting teams can prepare themselves for any increased workloads as we roll into 2024. Read on to learn more.

April

  1. 6th April: First day of the new 2024/2025 tax year.
  2. 19th April: PAYE and Class 1 quarterly cheque payments to be cleared / Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return.
  3. 22nd April: PAYE and Class 1 monthly and quarterly electronic payments to be cleared.

May

  1. 19th May: Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return / Employer Annual Return P35 and P14 Deadline.
  2. 22nd May: PAYE and Class 1 monthly electronic payments to be cleared.
  3. 31st May: Final date to provide employees with P60 forms.

June

  1. 19th June: Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return.
  2. 22nd June: PAYE and Class 1 monthly electronic payments to be cleared.
  3. 30th June: Accountants receive their tax credit renewal pack by this date.

July

  1. 5th July: PAYE Settlement Agreements.
  2. 6th July: Deadline for P9D and P11D forms, and form 42.
  3. 19th July: Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return / PAYE and Class 1 quarterly cheque payments to be cleared.
  4. 22nd July: PAYE and Class 1 monthly and quarterly electronic payments to be cleared.
  5. 31st July: The tax credit renewal pack is to be returned by this date / second self-assessment payment deadline. 

August

  1. 9th August: Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return.
  2. 22nd August: PAYE and Class 1 monthly electronic payments to be cleared.

September

  1. 19th September: Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return.
  2. 22nd September: PAYE and Class 1 monthly electronic payments to be cleared.

October

  1. 1st October: Personal Income Tax Statements sent to taxpayers.
  2. 5th October: Capital gains deadline for non-self-assessment.
  3. 19th October: PAYE and Class 1 quarterly cheque payments to be cleared / Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return.
  4. 22nd October: PAYE and Class 1 monthly and quarterly electronic payments to be cleared.
  5. 31st October: Deadline for Paper Self Assessment Tax Return 2023/2024.

November

  1. 19th November: Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return.
  2. 22nd November: PAYE and Class 1 monthly electronic payments to be cleared / Autumn Statement 2024.

December

  1. 19th December: Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return.
  2. 22nd December: PAYE and Class 1 monthly electronic payments to be cleared.
  3. 30th December: Self Assessment Tax Code Collection deadline.

January

  1. 19th January: PAYE and Class 1 quarterly cheque payments to be cleared / Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return.
  2. 22nd January: PAYE and Class 1 monthly and quarterly electronic payments to be cleared.
  3. 31st January: Online Self Assessment Tax Return deadline.

February

  1. 19th February: Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return.
  2. 22nd February: PAYE and Class 1 monthly electronic payments to be cleared.

March

  1. 19th March: Deadline for receipt of contractor’s monthly return.
  2. 22nd March: PAYE and Class 1 monthly electronic payments to be cleared.
