I have had a long career in HMRC working mainly in VAT face to face with both small and medium enterprises but also for the past 20 years with large corporates covering all the main taxes and finally in VAT Policy in Westminster. I may not know the answer immediately, but I know where to find it! Moving on from HMRC, I rebalanced my life to give more time to things I enjoy. Spending time with my growing family is important. We have a young springer spaniel who needs regular walks so I get to enjoy the countryside whatever the weather. I enjoy cooking and baking but living near the River Thames sees me both on and in the water either paddle boarding, rowing, canoeing, or swimming. I enjoy a challenge and have raced competitively in dragon boats over many years and recently completed a sprint triathlon. Swimming provides many benefits for the mind and body and I achieved my challenge this year to carry on swimming throughout the winter in either the river or the sea in Cornwall where we also spend time. I look forward to getting back to skiing.
