Wednesday Optional tour – Frankfurt Skyline – From Tower to Skyscraper
Since the Middle Ages, towers as defensive structures and symbols of power, have shaped the Frankfurt cityscape, which has hardly changed over the centuries. It was only in the twenties that high-rise buildings that were timidly realized, but fiercely contested by contemporaries, started the shape of today's skyline. Since the Fifties ever higher rising glass office towers of banks, insurance companies and commercial enterprises form the image of the city. They create the basis for the Messeturm and Commerzbank as superlatives in the European height competition.
During this tour guests will learn about the towers – but also about the history within the towers. Ending by an unforgettable view from the 200m high Maintower.
The registration fee includes: the guided tour, the entrance ticket for the Main Tower, Coffee & Traditional Cake at Café Wacker.

REMBRANDT AT THE STÄDEL
Established as a civic foundation in 1815 by the banker Johann Friedrich Städel, the Museum ranks as Germany’s oldest museum foundation. Under a single roof, its collection offers a complete survey of seven hundred years of European art. The holdings encompass 3,100 paintings, 660 sculptures, more than 4,600 photographs and more than 100,000 drawings and prints. Works by such artists as Cranach, Dürer, Botticelli, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Monet, Picasso, Beckmann and Giacometti form the highlights.
During your 1-hour guided tour, you will learn more about those famous pieces of art. After the guided tour you will have individually the possibility so see a very special exhibition: the Städel Museum addresses Rembrandt’s rise to fame during his formative years in Amsterdam in an exhibition called “Becoming Rembrandt”.

Frankfurt Inside
This is a special tailored made tour at the center of Frankfurt. A combination of culinary, personal & historical insights. One of the “new” highlights of the Frankfurt City center is the “New Frankfurt Old Town” (also known as the Dom-Römer Quarter), which was reconstructed from 2012 to 2018 as part of a major urban development project. The project redesigned and developed a 7,000 square meter property in an effort to remake the old city centre, which was severely damaged during World War II, in the style of the pre-war architecture. It aims to give the old town quarter between the Römerberg square and the Cathedral (Dom) new life. After passing at the Goethe’s House, you will then have a stop at the Kleinmarkthalle where you meet authentic Frankfurt Personalities: Ilse Schreiber whose sausages are famous, a local cheese tasting and some more smaller stands to discover. Having bought here the ingredients, you will prepare your own Grüne Sauce, Frankfurt’s signature dish, for lunch.

Optional Tour: Culinary Rhine Valley
During this culinary tour, you will explore the beauty of the Rhine Valley. Starting with a stunning view from the Niederwald Denkmal and a small hiking tour down to the picturesque village of Rüdesheim, you will have a cellar tour with wine tasting at Johannisberg Castle. After a short walk, you will arrive at Vollrads Castle, known for its exquisite cuisine, for lunch. While visiting the famous Eberbach Monastery, a wine tasting within the cellars will give the culinary touch to this tour
